EDG lost to tes in a five-game thriller, stopping at the sixth position. The double carry of inseong and irving clicked, but uzi and karthus were unable to turn the tide.

EDG

The 2023 LPL Summer Playoffs are currently underway, and after the first two rounds of competition, EDG surprised everyone by unexpectedly defeating both WE and OMG in a row, securing their spot in the Wild Card Qualifier. Today, they faced off their performance was more than enough to impress the audience. Most viewers and commentators expected TES to win in a landslide, but EDG showed off some serious resilience, making it a much tougher fight than expected. If it weren’t for the explosive carries of ADC Kevix and Mid Laner Rookie in the fifth game, the outcome of the series could have easily been reversed.

One standout player for EDG in this series was definitely their Top Laner Ale dominance up top.

Unfortunately for EDG, their Mid and ADC positions were unable to keep up with the carries of Kevix and Rookie in this series, specifically in the final game where Uzi’s Cassiopeia was unable to make a significant impact due to the disadvantageous team composition in the early and mid game. As a result, TES was able to take home the victory with a score of 3-2 and move onto the quarterfinals.

It’s clear being the Blue side is in professional play. Fortunately for EDG, they still have a spot in the Wild Card Qualifier and can still fight for a spot in the World Championship through that route.

What’s important now for both teams is to maintain their focus and bring their best effort to every remaining game. No matter the outcome of this series, the summer season is far from over for either team, and there are still many big matches left for both sides to play.
